Religious Education (RE)
Curriculum Intent
‘Curiosity, Compassion and Tolerance’
At Chyngton, we teach pupils to develop:
curiosity about faith,
compassion found within religious teachings,
and tolerance for those who practice different faiths or have none.
We teach this through four stages of learning each term
1. INSPIRE Curiosity.
2. WHAT do different faiths teach?
3. HOW do beliefs affect what people do?
4. SO WHAT does this mean for me?
We have adapted the ‘Agreed Syllabus for RE in East Sussex’ to enable our children to meet those objectives.
