Welcome to Chyngton Primary School!

We are the family-friendly choice of school in Seaford that puts our children’s wellbeing and happiness at the very heart of all that we do. Our parents often tell us how much they value our quick and caring responses to all of our children’s needs.

Our approach to learning and support has also earned us high praise from Ofsted, who said in May 2022 “Pupils are happy at Chyngton. They are proud of their school. They say that the school values ‘Be kind, be safe, be ready for learning’ match their day-to-day experience of school.”

We are proud of our children’s learning and progress through our ambitious curriculum. We are about to join the ‘Seaford Learning Trust’ along with Seaford Head School to develop a seamless curriculum across both schools and share resources and expertise.

At Chyngton, you will notice that we have large, comfortable classrooms, together with extensive outdoor areas for play and sport. Reception children have a generous wing of the school, exclusively for their learning and play. We also provide extensive wrap-around care from 7:40am until 5:30pm.

Parents value the links that we have with local nurseries that enable us to build on children’s achievement and successfully transition into school. At Chyngton, Reception children learn the fundamental skills that they need to begin to read, write and use numbers. This happens through an exciting and engaging play-based curriculum involving many other subjects and experiences.
